World Future Forum is an international conference that provides a platform for research and discussions of excellence in high school and the transition into higher education and career paths. Situated in Chicago, World Future Forum will bring together a diverse group of secondary and post-secondary educators, administrators, academics, and other professionals to enrich their knowledge of preparing students for today’s job market and workforce.

The conference will take place on April 25th and 26th at the Palmer House Hilton (17 East Monroe Street, Chicago, IL). You do not need to be committed to the full two days; however, a short workshop/meeting prior to World Future Forum is mandatory. We are willing to work with your schedule.

Requirements for all roles:

  • Pursuing a college degree in any major (except for the Social Media and Media volunteer, who must be pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, English, Journalism (AD/PR) or Communications)
  • Abide by a dress code and maintain a presentable appearance
  • Strong organizational, logistical, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Desire to ‘own’ the work and lead tasks
  • Interest in education a plus!

Media Opportunity

Do you love to take photos or make videos? Do you find joy in crafting clever and relatable content on social media? Are you the camera guru of your friend group? Are you interested in education and student success?

The Media Volunteer will be part of a creative team that captures the forum through photography, videography, interviews, and more. We are looking for someone who is passionate about photography and video production, education, career development, or all of the above! Ideal candidates will have an intimate understanding of both photography and social media platforms and how content varies across them.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture photos of event attendees, panel sessions, and interactions to capture the forum for social media and marketing use.
  • Operate camera and audio equipment to assist social media volunteers throughout the event.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required education, skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Basic understanding of photography and videography
  • Experience with professional grade camera equipment
  • Understanding of artificial and natural lighting and how it affects different settings, shapes and skin tones.
  • A keen eye for detail and a well-developed artistic and creative aesthetic.
  • Experience using social media networks and platforms
  • Highly motivated and flexible team player

Social Media Opportunity

Do you love to write? Do you find joy in crafting clever and relatable Facebook posts, tweets, blog posts, or videos? Are you the social media guru of your friend group? Are you interested in education and student success?

The Social Media Volunteer will assist with managing social media accounts leading up to and on the day of the forum. We are looking for someone who is passionate about social media and communications, education and career development, or both!. Ideal candidates will have an intimate understanding of social media platforms and how content varies across them. Candidates will have an interest in writing, editing, photography, videography, blogging, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Social Media event manager to coordinate content across platforms throughout the duration of the event.
  • Analyze and evaluate content to ensure error-free grammar, spelling, and formatting.
  • Basic web design and social media content creation.
  • Attend Forum sessions to collect photos, quotes, and notes that can be used for content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required education, skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Experience using social media networks and platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Fluency in English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Highly motivated and flexible team player
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar a plus
  • Experience using Hootsuite or similar platforms a plus
  • Basic HTML knowledge a plus

General Event Opportunity

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Helping with event set-up and break-down
  • Coordinating and supporting the registration process by checking attendees and/or speakers/presenters
  • Directing attendees and speakers to designated areas, rooms, and the dinner cruise
  • Assisting presenters during breakout sessions
  • Assisting with award ceremony
  • Supporting the event staff in general
